We have gotten many inquiries as to what the duck looking image is that we use for our blog icon.  It's a portrait of a masterpiece!  A "Ducky" that our son made out of play-doh when he was just 5 years old!   Click on it for a closer look (as with most images in our blog) and you can check out all the artists little fingerprints.

WOJ...more photos! Mostly show shots...such a great time!

WHEW!!!  Finally photos are ready to load.  There's a glitch on the Feature gallery on the site so I was unable to load a nice site there but, well, here are some moments at the shows that made for such a wonderful time!The whole weekend is filled with all these wonderful events...Pilates, cooking, Q&A's and meet n greets.

On our way to Friday rehearsal we ran into Ken Miller...he was so kind as to point out the water on the ground...we may not have seen it...or the yellow marking cone...Thanks Ken!  Now that I look at the photo and see those rows of ice cycles...the water doesn't look so threatening!

Nelson Rangell was great!  He played in several songs, including "TAXI", the theme song from the TV show "TAXI".

Al Turner ...  He's also got a great CD out called "It's Good To Have Friends".  We have this one...it's actually one I think we've just about worn out (it that's possible to do)!

The show night then took a little break...another great time with Rick Braun!

We've seen Richard Elliot several times but, he was at his best here...the altitudes didn't slow these guys down at all!

Gabe has his first Baseball Game...the A's

What a handsome bunch we have!

We're so excited about Gabe playing his second year of t-ball...only their not quite the little tikes they were last year.  They throw with some skill and concentration.  They run in the right direction around the diamond...and they're getting guys out and avoiding the outs more.  Still cute...It's "Coach Pitch".  The coach pitches 5 times then the boys get the T if needed.  That's quite rare...

"Weekend of Jazz" at the Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs, Co 2009!

Oh, the Beautiful Broadmoor Hotel...are there words to describe the time there at WOJ?

We had an amazing time, once more.  It really is a magnificent place..and even more wonderful is the time with the people, shows, the beautiful scenery everywhere you look! 

I decided to post just a batch of favorite of my photos...there are SO MANY that I wonder if I'm even going to get through them all.

It was so great seeing Jack Forrest again...he's such a wonderful person!  It was like a homecoming being welcomed so enthusiastically by him.  The Broadmoor employees are top notch!  They really don't walk around with lattes in their hands...he's carrying mine so I could snap this photo.

Most of the people who were planning on making it to the hotel this year on Thursday did...they did make it...others got stuck at closed airports and between the port and the hotel. 

These are the "First Ladies".  They've been coming to "WOJ" for 6 years now!

We saw this employee shuttling by as we sat in the bar...what a hoot!

Thursday night we had the show at the very cozy Cheyanne Lodge!  It's up the mountain from the hotel...so far we've only seen it in the snow...this year it was in a blizzard!  We headed up the mountain in a shuttle, complete with a band playing all the way!

The show was great!  Jessie J  played with Earl Klugh's band...what a wonderful show!

Okay, now I'm skipping ahead to the Saturday show...Patti Austin (on the left) opened...  She gets the crowd ROLLING!  She has such a great natural wit about her...a wonderful voice, and is such a great person!  Denise is on the right...She is the engine that gets this whole event moving!  She's truly amazing! 

After Patti came Spyro Gyra...We've seen them play before but...they really turned it on here!  They were great!  I'll post more photos here tomorrow...check back in...

Saturday before the show there were classes...Pilates at 10:00, The Cooking at noon, a Q&A time for the first time to WOJ fans, and a Meet and Greet for the veterans.  There is so much to write about, post images about...I hope to get all of them posted in the "Feature Gallery" on the site soon...

Happy Easter...after Easter!

I know this is a bit bold to post this...I'll explain where I got the images.  We love Easter time at our house.  We have the family time, the traditional Easter egg hunt and baskets on the Fireplace hearth in the morning for the kids.  It's more than that, though.  It's the death and ressurection of Jesus and what that means to us eternally that is the more important part of this special day for us. 

These are some of the images I took at our church...Eastridge Christian Assembly...on Friday night.  It opened with an abbriviated video of the "Passion of Christ" then ended with a short play by our members here.  Every year they do such a wonderfully impactful display of what Jesus went through. 

Hi WOJ Friends! Hey everyone! Happy Spring and April Fools!!!

     Hey there everyone!  I took a while break from blogging...had some big projects in the making, school yearbook, school activities, and other photography related things, to mention Earl Klugh's "Weekend of Jazz" that we, Scott and I, just returned from in Colorado, We're so excited to be back!  I am excited about all the new things coming up this spring...(to be blogged about a bit later).  I am so excited to be back!  Stay tuned for new images, new events, and very colorful images from Gabe's baseball season!  Okay, I'd better drop a few images just to prime for what's to come!

     To those we met again, and just met, at the WOJ,  'Weekend of Jazz" in Colorado...we have so many wonderful memories, and images to share capturing the time with you!  We'll get them posted soon!  We had so much fun with all of you!  You truly are like family to us and as always, leave "Paw prints on our hearts!"  Thank you for all the wonderful memories!  There is no time like this time with you!  You are all such a blessing to us and we truly hope you all had the marvelous times we did there in Colorado Springs!  Hope to see each and everyone of you next year in April!!!  Denise, Earl, and all the rest, we truly love you!  You have blessed thousands with a bright spot throughout the years and in the years to come...Thank you SO much!!!

How about in the past year?...Ever?  I'm just now realizing how little I know about our wonderful country's history is...how wonderful it is to be free to do as we want, and how much this freedom stems from our laws being based on our constitution!

I'm always amazed at what you can do with textures, filters, fonts, a cool photo, and a little imagination (and time).  This weekend I had a chance to just sit and play in Photoshop.  I love listening to the kids playing in the background (at home) as I sit and watch images change with just a click.  I played with a photo I took sometime last summer...it's a concrete wall fixture we have hanging outside.  I found some cool textures online and decided "Stoneface" needed a little make-up.  This is what I came up with.

Oh, how I love this girl!  I was just browsing through some photos...cleaning up all the many files I have and filing things away and ran into this one.  It was just a nice day out and I snapped this of her on the Old Redmond Road.  The bricks were hand laid in 1918, or so.  No need for speed bumps on this road!

Just some times from Winter - Christmas 08

 

We had a great time...a White Christmas!  It's been..well, at the risk of "dating" myself, at least 30 years since we've had snow on Christmas!  A few shots of our family...Christmas was a blur this year.  It went by so quickly!

We went to the Santa Breakfast in Seattle with Gramma and Grampa...such a nice time!

Right before school got out, I went and snapped a couple shots.  One was of this little guy...a group of his friends were all yelling "Don't do it!".  It was hilarious!  You've seen "Christmas Story", right?

The kids checked out Santa's progress on Christmas Eve with the Norad Santa Tracker.  Gabe was getting pretty nervous about then...looks like Santa was "riiiight heeeerrrre", around Montana...time for bed!

We made a toboggan run down a hill on our property this year...it was a total blast!  Amazing we had enough snow...a total of about 17 inches! 

 

Have you ever played with the "Liquify" option in Photoshop?  The kids had such a great time doing this again...it's a regular happening at our house...They started with this (above)

and ended up with this!  We laugh til everything hurts during the process!
